Beat blemishes the natural way - Products tried and tested

To the rescue - Kate Logan SOS blemish remedy

We’ve all been there; woken up one morning to find our skin is less than flawless. Here at Daisy HQ we have been testing the best ethical remedies around that make spots stop.

Inspired by Dr Zoe’s article on why we get acne and how to get rid of it, we made some great discoveries.

Kate Logan
Kate Logan offers three products in the Battling Blemishes range. The first is the SOS Blemish Remedy (pictured right) offering rapid healing for just £9.99. Kate combines lavender, calendula and myrrh ingredients with her own fair hands to make this handy pot that will rescue any damsel from skin disaster.

The next is a Breakout Balm (pictured below) for £8.99 that is intended to reduce redness and helps the healing process with skin regenerating ingredients. Finally there is the Grey Clay Rescue Mask, £11.99 which is used to ‘degunk’ the skin. It absorbs excess grease and impurities that can cause spots.

Our editor Sally said, ‘You can really see the mask working and I love that Kate handmade these products herself in the UK.’

A’Kin Skin Care
This extremely eco company have created a range of skin care that is 100% natural botanical, vegan, organic and all packaged in recyclable materials.

Dr Zoe said that dead skin can block pores leading to spots so our Allison used the A’Kin Jo Jo and Corn, Gentle Exfoliating Facial Scrub, £13.28. She said ’I use this as part of my daily skin care regime. It’s filled with natural ingredients, which made my skin feel and smell amazing.  I was surprised at how gentle it was.’

Their White tea & Aloe Vital hydration Gel Creme, £18.99, is also a good bet as Dr Zoe recommends using a gel based moisturiser. Removing the last traces of cleanser with a toning also helps keep the pores clear so follow it with A’kin’s Orange Blossom and Chamomile Refreshing and Soothing Toner, £8.99 (and it smells lush!).
