Liz discovers the All Saints Coat

A couple of weeks ago I went out shopping with Feature Journalist, Liz Lamb from our local newspaper The Journal. We were investigating the reported rise in sales from the charity shops.

My first week working from home and I get to shop. What a treat.

Off we trotted over to our local Oxfam in Jesmond, where Jon, the Manager, looked after us as if we were royalty. As we sifted through the rails, he was kind enough to invite us off the shop floor into the store rooms. What a treasure trove it was.

Over whelmed with all the goodies; a Vera Wang dress, Burberry mac, vintage dresses the choice was extensive, I was like a child in a sweetie shop.

The plan had been for me to find some outfits and have my picture taken for the article Liz was researching. I convinced Liz to try some clothes herself, low and behold, she found an All Saints coat, black dress, beautiful cream vintage dress and a chunky belt.

As she tried on her outfits, I could see her conversion, she certainly hadn’t come out with the intention of buying anything, and now she had two new outfits and a coat (I got a fab Vera Wang dress and some leather pumps).

We spent far too long in the changing room, then headed off to the studio to record an interview. I can talk passionately about Daisy Green to anyone anywhere, but I admit I was nervous. And when you see it you can tell!

Judge for yourself here.

The Daisy Green team have always professed to be one thing: being normal women who are just trying to encourage others to think about the choices we make every day. We are not perfect, and as the video clip shows, certainly not polished!

But the message, I hope, is clear - much fun can be had shopping ethically.
