On Thursday 12 March, DaisyGreenMagazine.co.uk and Ethic Boutique will join forces with Newcastle University to hold an Ethical Extravaganza, in aid of dansfundsforburns.org

Selling and showcasing the very best in pre-loved, vintage and ethical fashion and offering hands on events and advice, the event is expected to be popular with fashion conscious shoppers looking to shun ‘fast fashion’ and beat the credit crunch.

The fun starts at 3pm in the University of Newcastle Student Union with an Ethical market. 20 high quality local stall holders will be selling clothes, hand-crafted bags and accessories, trinkets, jewellery, homewares and more, giving shoppers a perfect opportunity to grab unique pieces at bargain prices.

Krista Puranen, Wardrobe Mistress and Eco stylist will also be on hand, demonstrating how to customise and alter existing outfits. And there will be a chance for visitors to get creative and design and customise their own reusable shopper.

For those with vintage outfits to sell on, Corner 93 will be on the look out for new stock. Ethical afternoon tea and coffee will also be on offer, courtesy of EthicalSuperstore.com and there will be a selection of cakes to buy.

In the evening, a fashion show will explode the myth that ethical clothing is all hair shirt and no style. Design labels including THTC, People Tree, KateTailyour, and Tammam will show fabulous frocks, amazing accessories and cool clothes designed to tempt even the most discerning fashionista.

Ethical, vintage and pre-loved will all feature; outfits that are as unique as they are kind. The grand finale will be the Clothes Swap – a chance to clear out all your pre-loved clothes and swap them for ‘new’.

positivetv.tv will be filming the event for their dedicated ethical TV channel.

Tickets are £4 in advance or £5 on the door. To have your name placed on the guest list, contact nicola@daisygreenmagazine.co.uk or join us on Facebook
