Oxjam the night away!

Boogie on down with Oxjam

The North East will be rocking away this weekend when the Oxjam Music Festival kicks off in Newcastle on Friday 31 October and Sunderland 1 November.

Oxjam is a music festival with a difference. It will raise vital funding for Oxfam. Whatever music you’re into, from classical to club night, folk to funk, Oxjam has it covered.

In Newcastle, at the Tyne Bar, they are hosting a Halloween party with a difference; a moonshine-fuelled hoedown of home-grown blues.

Taking place within the shelter of The Tyne’s enclosed beer garden, this free gig will feature the piratical alternative country of Spanish Battery, Jagged Alice and Saltlick. Don your finest scare-wear and join Oxjam for the new Danse Macabre.

At Independent in Sunderland, fresh from the release of their debut single, You Can Call Me Peter, Ben Folds-inspired piano pop outfit, The Wooden Spoons, will head up Oxjam’s outing. Ethereal rock acts Ryoga and Rayne will also put in an appearance.

Make music, raise money and help end poverty with Oxjam.
