With prices starting at just £550 for their wedding gowns their elegant flowing silhouettes create a classic glamorous look that make all the dresses timeless. The founder and designer, Sabina Ali uses natural silks that haven’t undergone a dyeing process so it’s kinder to the environment than normal silks.

Our favourites are the Alaya design which is made from natural silk with a cowl neck, the Lotus dress which is  shorter than the traditional wedding dress and the Aurora gown that can be seen in the gallery.

For a very modern wedding Blushless have designed a dress that is the essence of romance. The short and strapless dress that is covered in white love hearts and would be great post ceremony. The collection was inspired by David Lynch’s ‘Wild at Heart’ and this dress is the perfect example of this. Sheffield University
This last dress is quite revolutionary. Most wedding dresses will be worn once and then will become an heirloom  in the back of the wardrobe. Fashion and engineering students at Sheffield Hallam University have created a dissolvable wedding dress, which might not be great for an British wedding due to the unreliability of the weather but at least it is completely ethical.

The lavishly designed dress has now become an art piece in the University’s Furnival Gallery. Sheffield Hallam University Fashion professor Jane Blohm said that ‘The wedding gown is perhaps one of the most iconic and symbolic garments in humanity’s wardrobe and represents the challenges of “throwaway fashion”‘.

And don’t forget vintage and secondhand where true treasure can be found. Check out Oxfam’s dedicated bridal shop. That way you’ll have a warm glow on your wedding day for more reasons than one.
