Sisters Wardrobe
Graduate award winner gets set to launch her own e-commerce site
Jeni Batty, 24 set up her fashion label sisterswardrobe.co.uk in May 2008. A graduate with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Enterprise she is involved with the whole process of the business, from sourcing the fabric to designing and making each garment.
I de-construct unwanted clothing and re-construct it using other materials and garments to create a new piece. Every garment and accessory is an innovative one off item, so it is never seen twice. I do everything; search shops for unwanted items right up to sewing and construction of the garments. It’s a very small production team as I want to offer people a choice from the mass produced products out there.
The target audience for sisterswardrobe is woman who appreciate individuality and want to invest in a garment completely different to those on the high street.
Currently Jeni’s collection stocked in Psyche, Middlesbrough, and is doing so well that they are expanding into Cheeki Boutique, Darlington. Sisterswardrobe are working towards launching their own online shop later this spring, watch this space!
