Peruvian Knitwear launch A/W 09 range
Wearable classics with a modern-retro vibe
Jun 24th, 2009Peruvian Knitwear has launched its Autumn Winter range for 2009, with beautiful knitted garments and accessories.
All are ethically produced in Peru from the luxurious alternative to cashmere, Alpaca.
Taking inspiration from the catwalk, this season’s range has been designed by Amanda Ruiz, who is inspired not only by contemporary styles and trends but also by the colours and fabrics of Peru, the homeland of all the ethically sourced garments from Peruvian Knitwear.
Channelling the current eighties-retro feel of bright candy colours and a nod to ‘the bigger the better’ knits, which are key themes for designers like Marc Jacobs and Julien Macdonald, the AWO9 Peruvian Knitwear consists of luxurious and wearable wardrobe classics. Garments such as the Cobalt Blue Batwing jumper or the high collared bright pink short sleeved cardigan are bang on trend and easy to wear.
The soft knit of the Alpaca drapes extremely well and this is seen in best effect with the beautiful folds of the Waterfall cardigan, available in charcoal and chocolate, and built to stand the test of time and style fluctuations.
For the first time, the range now also includes a selection of accessories. Designed to work alone but also to wear with the range, accessories such as alpaca scarves in a myriad of colours will suit any taste or budget.
Amanda Ruiz, Founder of Peruvian Knitwear said;
We have worked hard this year to create a range of clothes that will appeal to a very broad audience, as well as designing garments that are a joy to wear. Alpaca is an environmentally friendly and luxurious alternative to cashmere, and our workers in Peru, who are guaranteed good working conditions and a decent wage, make all our range to a very high standard. The major benefit of the soft and lightweight Alpaca is that it doesn’t bobble or pil, so it really is an investment piece for your wardrobe.
