Julia Smith at Johari

THE new capsule collection from a most inspirational and ethical fashion label

Julia Smith has teamed up with Johari for a stunning summer capsule collection.

The London-based designer has created a collection of adorable dresses and soft separates with prints inspired by nature.

With a gentle nod to the 50′s and 90′s, the lightweight fabrics feature delicate flower and fish prints as well as feminine silhouettes.

The collection is hand-made in Nairobi by Johari Designs combining the very best of UK and Kenyan talent.

Johari Designs is both a social enterprise and ethical clothing manufacturer, created to give opportunities to vulnerable young adults leading to on-going employment and a positive future (a big thumbs up from the Daisy Green camp).

The staff have been trained through the Miale Apprenticeship programme which is run by the independent Johari Foundation charity. After they complete an 18 month tailoring and jewellery making programme, the girls are employed by Johari Designs to make their stunning designs.

100% of the profit from all sales of Johari clothing is invested back into the Miale Programmes; a set of community programmes which help vulnerable children in Kenya with education, social care and supports their basic needs.
