The journal is made with wood free paper, which is made in the Himalayas in Nepal. It is completely free from any chemical treatments and no bleach or chlorine is used in the making of this paper – it’s totally natural.

The soil in which the plants are grown is 100% organic. The Lokta plant from which this tree-less paper is made is only found at an altitude of 6,500 to 10,000 feet in the Himalayas, and the plant bark only is used ensuring that the plant continues to grow – therefore making it completely sustainable .

The journal cover is made from buffalo leather which is produced using traditional tanning methods in the rural villages of the Himalayas. It can take up to two months to process in the natural way without using any chemicals, and is kneaded by hand to ensure it is beautifully supple.
