Mr Daisy puts a new men's moisturiser to the test

Natural Empathy's Signature Moisturiser for Men

Natural Empathy's Signature Moisturiser for Men

Natural Empathy is a very British cosmetics company based in the north east of England.

They are inspired by British heritage and the love of the country life, creating a range of products without the synthetic preservatives or fragrances. We’ve been testing their products at daisygreenmagazine.co.uk for months and now it’s the turn of their Signature Moisturiser for men.

This product has an extensive ingredients list, and its base is water and cold pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil, which is sourced from the UK. Rapeseed oil is kind to the skin, and is often used as the base oil for gentle aromatherapy oils.

Aloe Vera and coconut oil are also part of the base, and this combination of ingredients gives the moisturiser a really lovely feel and it is readily absorbed into the skin without any greasiness at all.

The fragrance is distinctly lavender with a hint of cedarwood and reading the ingredients list, it also contains patchouli and all these essential oils are 100% organic.

Philip Stuckey, who is a director of Natural Empathy, has years of experience working as a Polymer Technologist and really understands the science behind the manufacture of cosmetics. He also worked for years in an industry that had a fairly apathetic attitude towards synthetic chemicals. For him Natural Empathy is about taking a step away from that and into a more positive industry working with very pure and organic natural ingredients with emphasis on local producers.

When Philip talks about Natural Empathy, you can tell he is enthused and passionate about what he does;

At Natural Empathy we know exactly where all our ingredients come from. We support UK farmers where possible by using locally grown and processed crops, and all our essential oils are certified organic essential oils from controlled, sustainable sources.

“The shea butter in our products is Fair Trade Shea butter from a women’s cooperative in Africa. Provenance and purity of our ingredients are key factors: The naturally active ingredients are the really important things and here we know the individuals concerned and the passion the have for what they do.”

The product works really well and its now Mr Daisy’s moisturiser of choice, particularly after shaving. Within about a week of using it, Daisy Green herself actually commented quite enthusiastically that it had made my skin glow and look younger.

It has really helped my rosacea and kept it at bay as well. I love the smell and feel of it and can honestly say I’ll be using this product for as long as they keep making it.

The bottle itself is pleasant looking and in keeping with Natural Empathy’s brand and style.  The bottles are easily recyclable and all their paper and card is from sustainable sources, or recycled.

Signature Moisturiser for Men can be purchased online from Natural Empathy for £25.00, or you can visit their shop in Amble, Northumberland.
